Fall is here. Finally. After an extremely hot summer lasting well into the changing of the Colorado aspens, we have hit the night time chills. With the fall and the coming winter, there is one thing guaranteed to be on almost everyone’s mind: the holidays! Whether you love them or you hate them, the holidays are right around the corner, and they impact us all in some form or another. Whether we are involved in them or not, it is pretty hard to avoid these events. Many people have a different reaction to the holidays based on who they are. Some people love Christmas music, and others hate it. Some people hate family gathers where other people are counting down the days till their family’s annual event. It changes depending on who you are talking to and their individual experience. No matter what your opinion or perceptions of holidays are, they are always going to come around. And the other piece to remember is this: while the holidays have to happen, we can always have fun with them.

There are a few pieces that seem to unify all holidays during this season. Spending money and eating an exorbitant amount of food. In America, we like to stuff our faces, and we like to buy new things. With the holiday season, there are plenty of opportunities for shopping and for eating. We spend money and gain weight around this time of year. In this vein of thought, there is something we wanted to talk about in The Ganja Gazette: something we are calling “The Stoner’s Guide to the Holidays”.

We want to cover quite a few different types of topics concerning the holidays and how these might impact you. Specifically, we wanted to focus on these ideas of materialism and gluttony, but we also wanted to talk a little bit about the relationships you might be managing when you are returning home, and there are parts of the world where you might have to talk about pot with your loved ones.

A few of the stories we are covering in this issue include:

How to Talk to Your Loved Ones About Your Smoking Habits

To Smoke or Not to Smoke: When to Consume

The Stoner’s Guide to Thanksgiving
